Our Windows
SCAAC is currently designing an art center in Stanwood - it will have galleries, classrooms, a gift shop and more. The new building will be constructed on the site of the former furniture store on Stanwood's west end. (Did you know it used to be a hardware store?) While we wait for construction to begin, why not bring a little beauty to the building?

Here's how it works:
Artist of the Month
SCAAC's Artist of the Month (AOTM) will have one 6'x9' window panel along the brick road on which to paint the design of their choice (no nudity or profanity, please). Painting is done on the exterior of the building.
SCAAC can provide latex paint in black, white, coral, yellow and aqua. Artists are welcome to bring other colors at their own expense. SCAAC can provide basic paint brushes and a drop cloth - any details brushes are BYO. Set up and clean up must be arranged with SCAAC prior to painting. Painting must be done between sunrise and sunset.

SCAAC's AOTM team will select each month's artist. Artists only need to apply once every 6 months; applications will remain active for those 6 months.

The AOTM will be notified on the 1st day of the previous month, and able to paint starting on the 1st day of "their" month. If artwork is not painted by the 5th of the month, the artist forfeits their month. The month's artwork will be removed by SCAAC on the last day of the month.
Example: October's AOTM will be notified on September 1, and able to begin painting on October 1. Their artwork will be removed by SCAAC on October 31st.

SCAAC's Artist of the Month will be asked to submit an artist statement and photo
for use in marketing and social media promotion.
